There are two levels to the BEE registration process in India:
- Brand Level Registration

- Go to the official portal hosted by the BEE
- Register and login using your company or individual credentials
- Fill the application form
- Submit the required documents
- Submit the application
- Once the application is accepted, you gain access to the option to obtain star rating.
Once your brand is allowed entry, your model gets the chance to get certified with a star rating. The procedure is as follows:
- Login to your dashboard
- Select the model registration option
- Enter the details of the model you need the star rating for.
- If you have more models for which star rating is required, you can click on the “add” button and proceed with entering their details.
- Submit the application form and take its printout.
- Post the physical copy of said form along with the required documents to the BEE headquarters.
- If your application is accepted, you’ll gain star rating for your product.
Note: It’s important to note that BEE certification process only gets you a star rating, but not a five star rating. Whether you get such a rating is subject to the power efficiency of your electrical appliance.
Documents for BEE certification in India
Following are the documents required for brand registration:
- Trademark certification
- Details of the manufacturing facility
- BIS license
- QMS Certificate
- SSI Certification
Model registration has to submit the following documents:
- Cover letter
- Independent test report of the electrical appliance (note: you need to get the product independently tested before apply for BEE certification)
- Declaration letter
- Specimen of the model
